GREEN BEAUTY GUIDE

Welcome to Green Beauty Guide – your online resource for making your own beauty products at home and generally looking after yourself in as green a way as possible.

Whilst writing A Green Guide To Natural Beauty, I realised that there was so much more information that I had to share, which would not fit in a book of 144 pages and so I created this site.
I get lots of people asking me if I have my own green beauty products range, I don’t, I would much rather teach others to make their own products at home than add to the already overflowing shelves of ready made products. It is so quick and simple to make your own, beautiful, effective natural products that there should really be no need to buy most of them. There are exceptions of course, I would strongly discourage home made sun screen products for example due to safety but cleansers, toners, moisturisers and most other beauty products are easy and effective.

The Green Beauty Guide is not just about skincare products, its also about the other things that help you look and feel better such as diet, exercise, health and relaxation. I will periodically share great tips I find along the way as well as products I have found that I love and think you will too.

Why The Green Beauty Guide?

Many people think that to be green, you have to deprive yourself of luxuries and that really isn’t the case – it is easier now than ever before! I love luxury, it makes me feel good, so I’m not going to compromise just to be green – that may sound shocking but many people feel the same way, which stops them trying in the first place. As Janey Lee Grace says on her Imperfectly Natural website none of us are perfect and we just need to do what we can starting with ourselves and our family.
Luxury to me is about quality not cost, you’d be surprised how little it costs to make the expensive luxury skincare products you see on the shelves of your local green beauty emporium.

I will also be adding some video tutorials to the Green Beauty Guide site for those who like to see how something is done rather than just reading about it. So watch this space!
